Description

Outdoor portrait of Captain (Capt) Harold Leslie Nash; Capt Garnet Wollesley Brown; Lieutenant (Lt) Harold Pryor Barton, all of the 2nd Battalion, who embarked from Sydney, NSW, on 18 October 1914 aboard transport HMAT Suffolk (A23). Capt Nash of West Maitland, NSW, enlisted on 27 August 1914 and was killed in action at Lone Pine on 6 August 1915. Capt Brown of Randwick, NSW, enlisted on 3 September 1914 and was also killed in action at Lone Pine on 6 August 1915. Lt Barton of Richmond, Vic, enlisted on 13 September 1914 and was killed in action on the Gallipoli peninsula on 19 May 1915.
