Description

Outdoor portrait of officers of the 2nd Battalion with two Egyptian guides in front of the Sphinx during a visit to the Pyramids. Identified from left to right: Captain (Capt) Arthur Borlase Stevens; Lieutenant (Lt) Leslie James Morshead; Capt Harold Leslie Nash; 2nd Lt Eric Martin Solling; Major (Maj) Clifford Russell Richardson. Capt Nash of West Maitland, NSW, enlisted on 27 August 1914 and was killed in action at Lone Pine on 6 August 1915. 2nd Lt Solling also of West Maitland, NSW, enlisted on 3 September 1914 and was killed in action at Lone Pine on 25 April 1915.
