Studio portrait of 558 Private (Pte) Alan Campbell, 4th Battalion, of Bathurst, NSW. Pte Campbell enlisted on 25 August 1914 and embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard transport HMAT Euripides (A14) on 20 October 1914. He died of wounds at Lone Pine on 9 May 1915, aged 26 years.
