Memorial card portrait of 1484 Private (Pte) Arthur William Fryer Card, 9th Machine Gun Company. The inscription under the portrait reads "our promoted soldier" and on the bottom right side, "eldest and dearly beloved son of J & A Card". Pte Card of West Maitland, NSW, enlisted on 30 November 1915 and died of wounds in France on 24 February 1917, aged 20 years.
