Maddalena, Harold James (Flight Sergeant, b.1922 - d.1944)
Description
The collection comprises a flying logbook of 27323 Flight Sergeant Harold J Maddalena which covers the period April 1943 - October 1944; and an incomplete letter written in April 1944 to his mother while he was on leave in England. Flight Sergeant Maddalena, trained with Nos 5 and 18 Elementary Flying Training Schools, 8 Service Flying Taining School, and 21 Operational Training Unit, RAF in England during the Second World War. He died 12 October 1944 in an accident in Gloucester, England while flying a Wellington. He also trained in Anson and Oxford aircraft.
