Description
Studio portrait of 568 Private (Pte) Leslie Archibald Hayes, B Company, 29th Battalion, of Wycheproof, Vic. Pte Hayes previously served with the 73rd Infantry Battalion, Citizens Military Forces and enlisted on 20 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He died on 26 July 1916 of wounds he received in France.
