Description

Depiction of Neyamet, a five year old Afghan boy who received a serious ballistic wound to his head. Peter Churcher recalled, "When he arrived at the American hospital on Bagram airbase, part of his skull was missing and a section of his brain had been blown away. Neyamet has made a remarkable recovery and was a bright and bubbly addition to the ward. He was a particular favourite of the two Australian paramedics. Neyamet is an orphan, has miraculously restored the use of his brain and was even speaking quite a few words of English, picked up from his American nurses."
