The entrance to the Australian compound, Bagram, Afghanistan
Description
Churcher has depicted the main entrance to the Australian compound known as 'The Ranch'. The artist recalled, "Just past the gate is the sentry box in which is seated a soldier on watch at all times. On either side of the gate are the ruins and piles of rubble that typify the general state of the area. Bullet holes scar the wall on the left".
