Description
Studio portrait of 558 Private (Pte) George Brown Hannaford, B Company, 29th Battalion, of North Gippsland, Vic. Pte Hannaford enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal (MM) on 17 December 1917 and returned to Australia on 8 May 1919 as a member of the 32nd Battalion.
