Description
An unusual marker device constructed from timber and sheet metal. It resembles a capital T with a cross beam (foreground). The steel cans were filled with white phosphorous which was lit at night and the device was slowly spun to indicate the Australian position if friendly mortars were being fired in the area. This device was installed at an unknown Army of the Republic of Vietnam camp where Australian soldiers from 5RAR were stationed.
