Studio portrait of 6770 Private Henry Alexander (Alex) Mell, 22nd Reinforcments, 13th Battalion, of Barraba, NSW, photographed in civilian clothes. He enlisted on 21 March 1916 and was a machine gunner with X Platoon, C Company, 13th Battalion. He was killed in action at Bullecourt, France, on 11 April 1917, aged thirty two.
