Studio portrait of brothers 807 Private (Pte) William Ballantine Hogg, 25th Battalion and 808 Pte (later Corporal) Richard Hume Hogg, 2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment. These men are two of five brothers who enlisted in the AIF; a sister also nursed with the AANS. Richard Hogg returned to Australia on 13 March 1919 and William Hogg returned to Australia on 26 December 1916. Their brother Lieutenant James Scholes Hogg, 42nd Battalion was killed in action on 1 August 1917 at Steenwerck, Belgium.
