Vial of oil taken from smuggling vessel : HMAS Kanimbla
Description
Clear plastic specimen vial with a red plastic screw cap, containing crude oil. A discoloured paper label stuck to the vial reads 'VACUETTE' and has boxes for 'Surname', 'First Name', 'Pat. No.', 'DOB', 'Date' and 'Time'.
History / Summary
Sample vial of oil taken from a smuggling cargo dhow in the Arabian Gulf on 22 February 2002, by Royal Australian Navy boarding party Victor 8, operating from HMAS Kanimbla. V8 was led by Commander Ian Parker, Executive Officer of Kanimbla.
