Portrait of 4562 Private (Pte) Cecil James Crook, 19 Battalion, in a peaked cap and uniform. Pte C J Crook, a miner from Adamstown, New South Wales, enlisted on 10 November 1915. He died of wounds on 4 October 1918 and is buried in Tincourt New British Cemetery, France. Two of Pte Cook's brothers, 45 Pte Daniel Crook and 58681 Pte Albert Thomas Crook, also served and returned to Australia in 1919.
