An unidentified soldier contemplates the grave of a fallen mate in a cemetery. The inscription on the cross reads: 'Sacred to the memory of Driver Frank Wood, 17th AASC AIF, who died at Heliopolis on 7th October 1915 aged 24 years.' Driver Wood was born in Bundaberg, Queensland. He died of heart failure and is buried in Cairo War Memorial Cemetery.
