Description
General Sir Archibald Murray (second from right), accompanied by unidentified officers, arrives to review 70,000 Australian troops, some of whom are visible in the distance. In 1882 the ground shown was the site of the Battle of Tel el Kebir, in which British troops routed an Egyptian nationalist force based here.(From the collection of 704 Driver Ernest Charles Barnes who served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade, 21st Howitzer Brigade and 2nd Field Artillery Brigade.)
