Description
Rear view of part of the wreckage of an Imperial Japanese Navy Type A Ko-Hyoteki class midget submarine, which was sunk in the Sydney Harbour on the night of 31 May/1 June 1942. The submarine was loaded onto a Diamond T Model 980 enroute between Sydney and Melbourne during an exhibition tour to raise money for the naval relief fund and is now part of the Australian War Memorial's collection. One of a series of photographs from the collection of SX2711 Lieutenant Colonel John Bayliss Goggs.
