Start saving now for your post-war car
Description
Australian late-Second World War poster encouraging people to 'start saving now for you post-war car' by contributing to the Third Victory Loan.
The poster depicts a young couple inspecting a new car that appears to have been revealed from behind a blue curtain that appears to the right of the car. The 'v' in victory references 'winged victory', a motif with origin hailing from the Winged Victory of Samothrace, today located in the Louvre.
The car bears a striking similarity to a Tatra T87/T97 (produced 1936-1950) - Czech cars particularly well-known for their extremely low drag coefficient.
