Identified is Captain (Capt) Charles Aloysius Denehy of the 7th Battalion, centre foreground smoking a pipe. He has his hand on a bulldog and this may be the mascot of the 7th Battalion who had a bulldog mascot called "Old Bill". Capt Denehy of Rutherglen, Vic, was a school teacher prior to his enlistment.
