An informal group portrait of all that is left of the original 12 officers and 300 other ranks of the 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train that landed with the British Army at Suvla Bay on 7 August 1915, taken on the first anniversary. The Commanding Officer (CO) of the unit, Lieutenant Commander L S Bracegirdle DSO, is seated three rows from the front and to the top right of the life buoy.
