Description
Studio portrait of 13 Private (Pte) Roland Snow Tipler, Headquarters Staff, 29th Battalion, of Birchip, Vic (originally of Hertfordshire, England). Pte Tipler enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He later served as a sergeant and returned to Australia on 5 November 1919 as a member of the 60th Battalion.
