Standing on a dais, an official party which includes the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Robert G Menzies watches a parade of Australian troops serving with the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) in Japan. Left to right on the dais are: Air Commodore A M Charlesworth; Prime Minister Menzies; Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) H C H Robertson, the Commander in Chief of BCOF and Brigadier I R Campbell, Commander of the British Commonwealth Base Kure. The Prime Minister is making an official visit of inspection to Australian units serving with BCOF in the Kure area.
