Description

Near Thilloy, France. A German trench, located north west of Thilloy, from which the German troops withdrew in February 1917. The wider trenches and revetment by means of brushwood were typical of German trenches, and distinct from the galvanised iron or expanded metal usually employed by the Allied armies.
