View of the road behind Seine House, in the Ypres sector, where the Headquarters of the 33rd, 34th, 35th and 36th Battalions were established, during the battle for Passchendaele on 12 October 1917. The 33rd Battalion suffered very heavy casualties along this road on the morning of the battle, three days before this photograph was taken.
