The Seaforth and Shoreditch mine craters at Hill 70, near Lens. These mines were blown from 100 feet below the surface by British Tunnelling Companies, during the mine fighting in March and April 1916. In July and August 1918, the 3rd Australian tunnelling Company were engaged in similar enterprises in this sector.
