Description
Unidentified soldiers in a support line trench near Cologne Farm, from which a fine 'indirect' machine gun barrage was put up by the Americans during the fighting on 29 September 1918. Quennemont Farm can be seen near the tents on the hill in the distance. This support trench was immediately between the section shown in E03570, and was the British support trench on 21 March 1918, when the Germans opened their big offensive.
