Near Loos, France. 7 February 1918. The 3rd Australian Tunnelling Company blowing an experimental trench with explosive which was enclosed in steel tubes three feet long and three inches in diameter and buried underground along the lines market out for the trench. With this explosion thirdy yards of trench is being excavated. See also E04560 and E04562.
