Description

This honour was awarded for the offensive operations in the Bonis Peninsula, in the Northern Sector of Bougainville. It includes the unsuccessful landing at Porton, and the unsuccessful attempt to establish the Porton – Chindawon line, where Australian troops tried to overcome strong Japanese defences.
