Gusika
Description
This honour was awarded for participation in the operations that led to the occupation of Gusika, on the Huon Peninsula, New Guinea. Gusika was used as the starting point for the Australian advance along the Huon Peninsula’s north-east coast, pursuing the Japanese back to Sio. The honour is unique to the 2/28th Infantry Battalion.
