Description

This honour was awarded for participation in the ambush at Jemaluang, on the east coast of Johore, Malaya. At Jemaluang Australian troops of the 22nd Infantry Brigade, including the 2/18th Infantry Battalion, successfully ambushed the invading Japanese troops, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. The battle honour is unique to the 2/18th.
