Laha
Description
This honour was awarded for the heavy fighting that incurred while defending the airfield at Laha, on Ambon, in the Netherlands East Indies. As part of Gull Force, Australian troops fought alongside Dutch troops against the invading Japanese. Gull Force was divided into two main areas: one at Laha and the other in the Laitimor Peninsula, near the town of Ambon. The battle honour is unique to the 2/21st Infantry Battalion.
