Mivo Ford

This honour was awarded for participation in the series of engagements along the Mivo River, in Bougainville’s Southern Sector. The honour includes the patrolling conducted by Australians across the Mivo River towards the Oamai River, and the defensive engagement fought by the Australians when the Japanese counter attacked their positions on the Mivo River, at Shishigatero and along Killen’s Track.
