HMAS Australia at sea, followed by HMS New Zealand. Along with HMS Indefatigable, the two ships made up the Royal Navy's 2nd Battle Cruiser Squadron; HMAS Australia was the flagship. A collision between the two on 22 April 1916 put HMAS Australia out of action until 9 June, causing her to miss the Battle of Jutland.
