Description

The landing in Italy of Allied forces on 3 September 1943 the fighting, weather conditions, terrain, equipment, relief maps of each area and methods used; shots of General Eisenhower General Sir Harold Alexander, (UK), General Montgomery, General Mark W Clark (US), Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham RN, Pope Puis XII and Benito Mussolini; scenes of naval bombardment and aircraft strikes. It is a general coverage of the campaign up to the liberation of Rome on 4 June 1944 including the bombing of Monte Cassino. There are also a few scenes from German films.
