AUSTAIR UNEF II
Description
Coverage of living conditions and activities of the Australian detachment to UNEF II (United Nations Emergency Force), based at Ismalia, Sinai. The role of the UNEF was to supervise the Yom Kippur War ceasefire between Egypt and Israel. The bulk of the Australian contingent comprised an Iroquois helicopter flight detached from No. 5 Squadron RAAF based at Fairbairn, ACT.
