Description
Australian Military Forces military training film AB4 AC4 on the Ordnance QF 25-pounder Short. Reel 1 shows the manufacture of the 25-pounder Short, the completed gun and its ammunition; demonstrates stripping and assembly also portability of the 25-pounder Short. Reel 2 shows drill and preparation for action, practice firing and camouflage. Reel 3 shows methods of moving the gun over rough terrain by hand and towing by different types of vehicles. Demonstrates method of loading the 25-pounder Short into C-47 Dakota (A65-39) transport aircraft and dropping by parachute. Troops in last few scenes assembling guns after airdrop are wearing American type steel helmets.
