Description
Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 1915. The Turks attacked the Anzac lines across the Nek early on the morning of 29 June 1915 and got into a sap held by the 9th Light Horse. They were at once driven out. This shows a secret sap which some of them crossed. It ran under bushes 30 yards from their trench and all the earth having been removed from below, it was invisible until they came on it. Captain Herbert this day rescued a wounded Turk from here under white flag.
