Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant John Auguste Emile Harris when Harris was a Senior Cadet in the 28th Battalion, NSW. He went on to serve as a private with the 2nd Battalion AIF and the service number 2251. Private Harris was killed on 8 August 1915 at Gallipoli. His father notes on the Roll of Honour circular Harris was 15 years and ten months at the time of his death.
