Description
The Royal Navy aircraft carrier and maintenance ship HMS Unicorn is docked at Kure Harbour. Maintenance work is being carried a biplane, with its wings folded back. Note the bucket of paint sitting on a wing (cente). HMS Unicorn and the frigate HMAS Shoalhaven, lying alongside at Kure, Japan, dressed their ships and fired simultaneous salutes of 21 guns, to mark the 13th anniversary of the King George VI's Coronation.
