Description
Unidentified wounded soldiers of D Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), being carried through connecting trenches to a waiting jeep on the other side of the hill. More serious cases are evacuated to waiting ambulance jeeps at the bottom of the hill by a flying fox. From there they are sent on to the Battalion Regimental Aid Post (RAP), and receive attention from the Medical Officer. Note the sands on the side of the trench. They were probably wounded during and enemy mortar attack earlier that day.
