Note Text in English and French. Explains the use of silica gel, how it controls RH, and how it is conditioned for use and maintained. Note: The CCI no longer recommends the use of indicating silica gel based on cobalt indicators - this product is now considered a potential carcinogen (by inhalation) due to the cobalt chloride moisture indicator. Indicating silica gels that are not based on cobalt chloride are now available, check with suppliers which type is being sold. Non-indicating silica gels do not contain cobalt chloride.
