Note | A single sheet from the topographical map series covering the area west and south of the town of Marsa Matruh, 240 km west of Alexandria, in northwestern Egypt. Shows the Mediterranean Sea coastline, small harbours, populated places, roads, numerous tracks, some marked with cairns and flag sticks or iron standards and tins, telephone lines, railway with sidings and level crossings, site of the Battle of El Halazin (23 Jan. 1916), graves, sheikhs' tombs, ruins, wadis, wells and cisterns, water pipeline with reservoirs, water points, stop cocks and valves, patches of cultivation, desert ridges and depressions, and other terrain features.
