Abstract
In this article the Author describes the history of the Militia and volunteer military forces of Western Australia from the period of 1829 up till 1950. He discusses how the British were forced to send troops to Western Australia in 1829 due to the French's interest in the area. As well as giving a history of the Militia and volunteer forces, the author also gives help for those who wish to do research in to the Militia records.
