Abstract
Artillery played a vital role in counter-insurgency during the Vietnam War. The author goes on to describe the role he played during the Vietnam War when he was a Forward Observer in the 101st Field Battery. He explains the role played by the Forward Observer when on operations and how he had to be in constant contact with the battery. The author concludes with details of the welcoming home parade his unit received upon returning to Australia.
