Abstract
In this article the author describes the military service of Victor Simon who took part in the Battle of Long Tan. He briefly mentions that Victor Simon came from a family who had a tradition of military service. The author also describes the reaction that Victor Simon had to Welcoming Home Parade, which was held in 1987. The author concludes by saying how Victor Simon is involved in the local veteran community as a board member of the Matraville RSL.
