In this article the authors describe the latest official history series to be written by the Australian War Memorial in collaboration with the Australian National University.  The official history will look at the Australian involvement in peacekeeping operations in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.  The authors go on to describe background to these officials histories as well as a brief history of official histories.
