Abstract
In this article the author describes the military history of Alex Chew who enlisted in the 2/21st Battalion and was made batman for the CO. The author goes on to describe how he was captured as part of Gull Force and became a POW. The author describes how he escaped and went on to serve with Z force as a commando. The author concludes by stating how in 1956 he was awarded the MBE.
