Turning interahamwe : individual and community choices in Rwandan genocide / Luke Fletcher
Abstract
In this article the author describes the reason why someone would have participated in the Rwanda genocide. Some of the reasons given were Land Shortage and youth extremism; fear and racial hatred. The author concludes that the order to commit genocide might have come from higher up in the command; it was up to individuals in villages to decide if they would participate in it.
