Note I have always loved words and even as a small girl I could not understand why the term "Limbless Soldier" was applied to my father Blue who had three limbs (and part of his fourth limb as well). A sleeveless dress has no sleeves and a treeless plain hasabsolutely no trees, so why call my Dad limbless? But after much thought I could not improve on that title so Blue, my dear Dad, had to be known as a Limbless Soldier and I have used that title, or variations of it, throughout this tribute to Blue, a retu rned limbless Soldier who fough in the Great War, 1914-1918. General.
