The Japanese rubber stamp on page 1 means PASSED INSPECTION (purple characters). TAKAHASHI (orange characters - the name of the approving officer). The Japanese rubber stamp on the reverse side of the two photos mean PASSED INSPECTION MIURA (the name of the approving officer). To the most high and mighty Prince James, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, defender of the faith,*&c. The translators of the Bible wish Grace, Mercy, and Peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord.--Page 5. Includes an index (page 6) This Bible was given to me by my Father when I was confirmed in Charterhouse Chapel in 1933. It was in my possession when I was captured by the Japanese in 1942. It was the only Bible in the Palembang Prison Camp and was much in demand by many P.O.W.s.It was passed by the Japanese as the Japanese censor stamp shows. The cards in the Bible were in it at the time of capture and remained with it. The photographs of David and Susan were received in September 1944 and also bear the Japanese Censor Stamp. By the time I was released the Bible had almost fallen to pieces. A Kind Captain Anderson - Australian Army HQ Unit, a book binder by trade fully rebound the Bible in Morocco Leather in 1953.
